v3. Audit and Update your Curriculum with AI studio

This AI tool helps education leaders structure programs to ensure graduates acquire the Knowledge and develop the Skills and Abilities required in their profession.

NOTE: This is just a prototype of the App. The current prototype is like a movie set -- it looks and feels real from the front, but all the "magic" is pre-written. A real-world application is like a functional building. It needs plumbing (a backend), a foundation (a database), and connections to city services (external APIs).

The prompt i used
1. Application Vision & Purpose
The Curriculum Catalyst is a web-based application designed to empower university leaders, program directors, and faculty to systematically and ethically modernize their curricula for the AI era. Grounded in the evidence-informed "Three-Step Playbook," the app serves as an intelligent assistant, guiding educators through a structured process of auditing, market-scanning, and enhancing their academic programs. It transforms the daunting task of curriculum redesign into an efficient, data-driven, and collaborative process, ensuring graduates are not just prepared but are leaders in an AI-augmented world.
2. Target Audience
The application is designed with a tiered user experience for:
  • University & College Leaders (Deans, Provosts): For strategic oversight, reviewing program health, and ensuring institutional alignment with future workforce needs.
  • Program Directors & Department Chairs: For conducting deep-dive audits, identifying specific gaps, and leading the redesign process.
  • Curriculum Committees: For reviewing proposed changes, ensuring quality, and facilitating a standardized, evidence-based approval process.
  • Faculty & Instructional Designers: For redesigning specific courses, developing new learning activities, and creating modern, ethics-aware assessments.
3. Core Philosophy & Design Principles
The application is built on three foundational pillars:
  1. Intuitive Workflow (The 3-Step Journey): The user interface is a guided, step-by-step wizard that mirrors the playbook. It eliminates ambiguity and provides a clear, linear path from initial audit to final implementation, making the process manageable and repeatable.
  2. Human-in-the-Loop (Ethical AI Guardrails): The app is an empowerment tool, not an automation engine. Every AI-generated output is paired with a mandatory "Human Check" gate. This principle reinforces that professional judgment is irreplaceable. The system maintains transparent prompt logs and incorporates bias-awareness checks to ensure responsible innovation.
  3. Actionable Intelligence (From Data to Decisions): The goal is not just to present data but to provide clear, actionable insights. Through visualizations and automated flagging of critical gaps, the app helps users focus their efforts where they are needed most, saving time and resources.

4. Application Workflow: A User's Journey
A user logs into their dashboard and starts a new "Modernization Project," which guides them through the following steps.
Step 1: The Curriculum Audit (Examine the Institution and Current Program)
Goal: To establish a clear baseline by identifying AI-related gaps and strengths in the current program.
User Interface: A clean, tabbed interface where users can upload or paste their program's core documents.
  1. Input: The user is prompted to add assets for their project:
    • Upload/Paste Mission Statement
    • Upload/Paste Course Map (list of compulsory courses)
    • Upload/Paste Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
    • Upload/Paste Student Feedback (e.g., 150 anonymized comments)
    • Upload/Paste Lesson Plan for review
  2. AI-Powered Analysis: For each asset, the user clicks a button to run the corresponding PTAC prompt:
    • Run Mission Fit Audit (Prompt A) → Output: A bulleted list of strengths, gaps, and suggested AI-era additions.
    • Generate Program Map (Prompt B) → Output: A two-column table showing courses vs. AI topics, with empty cells highlighted in red to make gaps obvious.
    • Run CLO Gap Analysis (Prompt C) → Output: A downloadable CSV table tagging each CLO with Bloom's Taxonomy level and flags for "Data Ethics," "AI Literacy," or "Model Critique."
    • Scan Student Voice (Prompt D) → Output: A 100-word summary of recurring AI-related themes from student feedback.
    • Run Ethics Review (Prompt F) → Output: A bulleted list identifying potential bias in a lesson plan and suggesting mitigation strategies.
  3. 🔒 Quality Gate: Human Check: After each output is generated, a modal window appears:
"Human Check Required: AI has provided a first draft. Please:
  • Verify the accuracy of the analysis.
  • Ensure the context is correct (e.g., is this the latest mission statement?).
  • Spot-check the CLO tags for accuracy.
  • Confirm all personal data has been removed from student comments."

Step 2: AI Trend & Labor-Market Scan
Goal: To pinpoint high-growth skills and quantify the gap between market demand and current curriculum coverage.
User Interface: A dynamic dashboard that visualizes labor-market data.
  1. Input: The user confirms the degree program to analyze (e.g., B.S. in Psychology). The app uses this to simulate data pulls from sources like Lightcast and the APA Job Bank.
  2. AI-Powered Analysis: The user clicks Run Market Scan, which executes Trend Prompts G, H, and I.
  3. Output & Visualization: The results are displayed in a powerful, easy-to-understand format:
    • KSA Growth Table: A sortable table of emerging Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs), their growth since 2020, and their frequency in job postings.
    • The Gap-Finder Chart: A clear bar chart is the centerpiece of this step. It juxtaposes % Market Growth (from Prompt G) with % Curriculum Coverage (from Step 1's Program Map).
    • Actionable Insights Panel: The app automatically flags critical areas for attention:
"Priority Alert! The following skills show >200% market growth but have <25% coverage in your curriculum:
  • AI-Assisted Assessment
  • Neuro-AI Interfaces
  • Affective Computing & Sentiment Analytics"

Step 3: Syllabus Enhancement & Redesign
Goal: To provide faculty and curriculum committees with copy-ready prompts and materials to efficiently close the gaps identified in Step 2.
User Interface: A "Syllabus Builder" toolkit. The user selects a high-priority "missing skill" (e.g., AI-Assisted Assessment) to begin the enhancement process.
  1. Input: The user selects a missing skill from the "Actionable Insights" panel.
  2. AI-Powered Content Generation: This opens a workspace with several tools:
    • CLO Generator (Prompt J & K):
      • Click Generate New CLOs → Output: A list of concise, Bloom-aligned learning outcomes (e.g., "Analyze the ethical implications of using AI in clinical assessment.").
      • Click Align CLOs to APA Guidelines → Output: A table mapping the new CLOs to APA 2.0 domains and suggesting assessment types.
    • Learning Activity Designer (Prompts L, M, N):
      • Click Design Ethics Lab → Output: Detailed instructions for a 2-hour lab where students audit GPT-4o for bias.
      • Click Design Data-Science Lab → Output: A Jupyter Notebook outline for an emotion analysis task.
    • Assessment Builder (Prompt O):
      • Click Build Assessment Rubric → Output: A 5-level rubric for evaluating student work on prompt clarity, bias mitigation, and ethical reflection.
    • Faculty Development Designer (Prompt P):
      • Click Design Faculty Workshop → Output: A complete 90-minute workshop agenda with objectives, activities, and materials to train faculty on teaching the new skill.
  3. 🔒 Quality Gate: Human Sign-Off & Export: All generated content is editable. The user refines the text, and before it can be added to the official project dossier, a final sign-off is required:
"Final Review: Please review the generated content for accuracy, pedagogical soundness, and feasibility within your program. This content should serve as a strong starting point for your expert refinement."
The user can then export the entire project—audit, market scan, and enhancement materials—into a single report for committee review, accreditation, or strategic planning.
