Tired of looking for the right words to encourage or warn a student?
Purdue University has developed an app (and a web site) with ready made snippets that can be very handy to lecturers who want to send effective messages to students for different occasions. Instructors can choose from a pull down menu including Low/Average/High performing student, or Assessments/Attendance/Encouragement/Interaction/Ethics etc. Here is one example: "In order to improve your performance on the upcoming [assignment/exam/group project], please review the [notes and materials/resources] posted in Blackboard." http://www.itap.purdue.edu/studio/passnote/
